    The Monty Hall problem

Watched the video and shall ponder more. It is quite amusing that the complicated answer is considered correct by some whereas others believe the simple answer is the one to go for. In my younger years I worked for 12 years in betting offices, also used to frequent casinos so am well familiar...

    The Monty Hall problem

Is my reasoning wrong? If so how? Complex answers sometimes confuse what is a simple issue. If you don't know Monty will remove one of the doors I understand the complexity but once that is known only two doors will be ultimately be options and one contains the car and one contains the goat...

    AI is becoming very realistic

Totally agree, we are assured safeguards are built in but bit like our data being safe with public companies, yes it is safe, until it isn't.

    The Monty Hall problem

Pondered this more during Sunday and my conclusion is that is is a 50/50 chance and here is why I think that way. Three choices to start but in fact the first choice is totally irrelevant, A, B or C doesn't matter, matters not whether your choice is the car or the goat as at that point it is...

    Hola!

Welcome @AllThingsTech - oddly I am not a discord or reddit user, read some posts obviously but never actually created an account. Much prefer the more personal responses one gets here. Personally, I'm a Linux user plus I run a few Raspberry Pi projects. Geffers

    Remembering D-Day

What they went through was horrific yet most veterans will remember the fleeting good times, the camaraderie, the dark humour between fighting. I too lost a grandfather I never met, albeit in Burma, memory recorded on Rangoon Memorial.

    The Monty Hall problem

Numbers can be confusing but one has to take in to consideration that you may have chosen the car correctly in the first place so your second 'change your mind' option may be to actually LOSE the car and win the goat.

512K Day: The Day The Internet (almost) Broke

Numbers are mind boggling. The video talks of 512 thousand routes and I cannot relate these numbers to each other but our current IPv4 system of internet addressing has 4.3 billion addresses - bit less really as many are reserved and not used, eg our private 192.168 local addresses amongst...

Joe Biden diagnosed with 'aggressive' prostate cancer

Cancer is an evil disease and it just goes to show, like with King Charles, no matter how wealthy and how good the medical care this ailment can hit anyone. Wish them both well but also remember many have to face this disease alone and with little support, if only we could eradicate it.

5 subtle signs your laptop or phone has been hacked

Problem is, a few days before the attack on M&S and CoOp I have no doubt customers were assured their data was safe, it is always safe until it isn't. Most people (me included) do not understand computer security enough and take what we are told much for granted, we are told it is encrypted, we...

Driving On The Steepest Street In The World

Didn't need fixing as all worked fine. Ended up doing 130,000+ miles in that car, mainly learners driving too.

    Will we get an A380neo?

Whilst it was a decision made on monetary grounds crew complied with all required procedures so no issues surrounding the cockpit actions, obviously questions were asked as explained in the video. During Air Worthiness Certification the 747 is tested flying on just one engine so the yaw force...

Driving On The Steepest Street In The World

Where on Earth was that @Retro ? That sounds interesting. Transmissions are very sturdy items despite my previous comment. When I was instructing learners many years back one student accidentally selected reverse without pressing the clutch. Big lurch, bang and stall. Anyway, car survived...

Customers urged to report self-checkout thieves

My opinion, the $1.00 discount is more of a headline grabber than $0.20. Bit like lottery prizes, the potential big wins attract the investments.
