In the UK the Online Safety Act was apparently designed to protect children, so far it is just being used to curtail online speech.

It may well have been ddrescue but this type of software is used once in a blue moon (unless one works in recovery) so once used tends to be forgotten.

I too love the technology but can see COVID was the push they took advantage of to effectively wean people off of cash, agree with @Hitcore re the dependence on apps for everything. Plus it forces users to stay up to date with phones too as many apps not supported for older operating systems.
