This can be a divisive subject, Julian Assange was guilty of highlighting US surveillance on supposedly friendly persons or nations, for that he has effectively been given a life sentence. Edward Snowden would have got likewise but escaped.

It is such a travesty of justice, it happens all the time unfortunately. It is really infuriating, so so unjust.

I don't think Assange is a criminal; his revelationd are backed by facts, the powers to be hated it, so they take away his rights, sling him in prison, and forget about him. Really sad.
You might of misunderstood me. I was agreeing with Retro, the Fed treats both Assange and Snowden as criminals.

@Mars Snowdon did pretty much as Assange, exposed corruption. They want to get him too, but he was luckier at escaping and hence is still free, albeit remaining a wanted man. In short, they're both heroes.

If I remember correctly, Snowden disclosed classified information, he is now a naturalized Russian.
This should tell you something about him.

Assange disclosed classified information too. The state will make sure embarrassing information of their misdeeds remains classified, you can be sure of that and of course, that goes for any country, not just America.

Yes, escaping to Russia is how he got away. One can come up with conspiracy theories on that and sure, it's a bit suspicious, but it's likely the only place that America couldn't reach him one way or another. The bigger picture is exposing the corruption that he did.

Agree Retro, Russia probably one of few, maybe only place that would not extradite him to US.
