    NerdZone is rebranding

Hopefully Xenforo SaaS offering has the ability to do rewrites also. Otherwise, you will lose any link traction the site may have had.

    FTTH rules the roost!

Limited to 1Gbps on the Mac Mini due to the ethernet port. And I get that easily. WiFi is slower of course as current router WiFi doesn't do 1Gbps over WiFi. From my 2013 era Mac Mini. Ookla Speedtest (server about 40 miles away) Server about half the country away (California from Texas)...

    FTTH rules the roost!

Brightspeed was pulliing fiber through our neighborhood last month. After the issues I've been having with our cable modem ISP (been a customer for 15 years) and their inability to troubleshoot the issue over a two month period I decided to switch. I can live with this for awhile. Twice the...

    NerdZone is rebranding

Keep it Classic sounds like an order to comply with. Keeping it Classic is more a positional statement that is being followed. In fact, the meme above simply proves that point. You tell someone to keep it real and if it is a belief position, keeping it real is correct as in We are keeping it...

    NerdZone is rebranding

Instead of Keep it Classic I think Keeping it Classic flows better and probably gives the better connotation for the use of the site name instead of the negative one. But I'm not an ad manager either! :ROFLMAO:

Installing Windows 11 on Unsupported Hardware

One thing about using Rufus (for those that don't want to watch a video that may or may not warn you about this).... there is no guaranteed upgrade path using Windows updates since there are some changes made to system settings during the install to bypass hardware requirements. If Microsoft...

Old School (or any similar play on words) phraseology has pretty much the same impact. It can be used negatively as well as positively. I see the term and I think of being stuck in the past, or what is some refer to as a fuddy-duddy. I tend to prefer more neutral based names.

    NerdZone is rebranding

Sometimes the "rebranding" can be as simple as a logo change. I know I've said it repeatedly, but just changing a domain is not a silver bullet to getting traffic. And when designing a logo, one thing to think about is how it will look as a PWA icon on someone's phone.

    The Trump thread

It's more based on the fact that the folks that own the show are losing a TON of money due to dropping of their premium streaming channels, not going to any of the Disney franchises and what-not. They've lost around 3.8 million dollars in market value in just the short time this has been going...

Broken dog given a furrever home

She's a 2 year old mix breed. DNA results show the main two breeds are Australian cattle dog and North American pit bull with a little beagle and Labrador retriever thrown in. They basically own both couches.... the one in the background the older mini Doxie hogs... and Maggie hogs where...

Broken dog given a furrever home

Playback on other sites has been disabled by the owner. When I get a chance I'll use the YouTube link it gives to it. Been busy tonight trying to keep my youngest furby away from the fence line where the skunks have been playing.

Don't get caught out by any of these car-based scams

Nope, honestly a lot of those things are "overblown" and do not happen as regularly as they say, if at all for some of them (did not watch the video to see what ones they talked about). The important thing has been and will be... the person being aware of their surroundings and having made a...

The most stupidest thing you ever did to break your PC

Ironically, my wife said it was her mother coming back to visit. We live in the house that she passed away in. As for a new scope, around $5000 for a replacement.

The most stupidest thing you ever did to break your PC

Ahh... the telescope didn't need ME to do anything to it. It decided to take a dive off the 5 foot high (1.5 meter) shelf it's been stored on for years and take the case with it and jump out and dive into the carpeted floor. Been busy trying to figure out where the issue is since stars in one...
