The most stupidest thing you ever did to break your PC

Not a cheap hobby, especially now with Drumpf's tariffs in place.

Don't get caught out by any of these car-based scams

Nope, honestly a lot of those things are "overblown" and do not happen as regularly as they say, if at all for some of them (did not watch the video to see what ones they talked about). The important thing has been and will be... the person being aware of their surroundings and having made a...

The most stupidest thing you ever did to break your PC

Ironically, my wife said it was her mother coming back to visit. We live in the house that she passed away in. As for a new scope, around $5000 for a replacement.

Ahh... the telescope didn't need ME to do anything to it. It decided to take a dive off the 5 foot high (1.5 meter) shelf it's been stored on for years and take the case with it and jump out and dive into the carpeted floor. Been busy trying to figure out where the issue is since stars in one...

The most stupidest thing you ever did to break your PC

Honestly... in the years since I got my first Vendex Headstart XT to run a BBS on to now... I've never had any "oh crap" moments that I can remember.... well, other than one time not having the clamp tight enough on a water cooled system, but that was only a drop coming out that was quickly...

    Anyone here play chess?

Many many many moons ago I used to. Back in high school a few friends and I played regularly during lunch at school. But I haven't played it recently.

Yep, odds are a health crisis that they are hiding. And if so, let's see how the GOP handles it after the ruckus they made over Biden and some others.

    The Trump thread

Want to see what Trumtpy Dumpty admin is pursuing? According to him.. he is the chief law enforcement officer. Sadly.. the current GOP doesn't have the balls to stand up for what they stood for in the past. It's more about bending over and spreading the cheeks and saying "thank you" for the...

No, he's not "off the hook". Trump and his sons are still barred from leading New York-based companies and they have a court appointed watcher over the business. And all the court did was say it was excessive. It can be reinstated at a lower level.

UK government forces backdoor in Apple encryption: this is BAD

They can fine away... good luck on it doing any good. Their court actions have ZERO authority in other nations. It is no different than a US court trying to impose their decisions on a person/company in another country. The only way that might work is if it is supported by a standing agreement...

Considering he did not "win" the case. The court finding of guilt was upheld. ALL that was done was that the monetary amount was deemed unreasonable. The guilty verdicts remain.... and the prosecuting agency will appeal that ruling on the fines. He can still be found liable for a lesser amount.

Far from an expert, but just have dealt with this due to my mother's prescription issues. Luckily for her all the kids got together and made sure she was able to get the medications she required without having to struggle with trying to get the "cheap stuff". But it's been that way for years...

    The Climate Change Thread

It's just part of Texas and actually living in much of the deep south. Texas and Louisiana are probably the worst due to the humidity levels with the heat in much of the both states. At least if the humidity level is low you can use evaporative cooling that works really well. That doesn't...

    The Climate Change Thread

It's all in what you get used to. Here in Texas there are still many homes that do not have AC, and that is in an area that averages 96° (36°C) to low 100's (38°C+) in the summer. You learn to make do with fans in the rooms (ceiling and also floor) along with consumption of ice water. At 63...
