Does anyone here play chess?

If you do, do you have a rating?
I’ve never competed in FIDE tournaments, although I play regularly on chess.com. I’m rating in the 700s currently, but it otherwise flunctuates.

Same (but 90s). Then my bestie started playing and he's super good at it. He mopped the floor with me, every single time. To the point where I just don't enjoy chess anymore, and would question my intellect, even.

Yeah, that's not nice. I get that when playing shooters like Call of Duty online against kids with lightning reflexes who mop the floor with me. Really offputting.

Yeah, it would be something else if there'd be more of a balance with winning/losing. 50/50 would keep things very interesting. Or 40/60. Hell, I could even accept 20/80. But when it goes down to 1/99, then I'm out.

Aw c'mon, I think yer putting yourself down too much! Chess is a tough game, and losing all the time may signify you playing a bunch of super strong players as opposed to you being a weak player
