Solid state batteries are being developed which will massively outperform today's lithium ion batteries, with 1.5x the range in cars, 10 minute charging times and less explosion risk for greater safety, for just a few of the benefits. On top of that, car companies reckon they'll be able to release them as an actual product in 2026. Can't come soon enough.
