Retired Windows developer Dave Plummer explains why it doesn't and why Linux, with its open source model, isn't any more secure than Windows with its closed source model. Oh and that Linux isn't 100% open source anyway, so shouldn't actually be called open source...

I'm not going to give away spoilers, so see what you think, especially as this is coming from a retired Microsoft employee, but I think he makes a compelling argument.

We take much for granted with security, we are told the padlock icon means all is encrypted safely, how do we know? Plus EU and UK are demanding access to encrypted data under the umbrella of protecting children, we believe that, right?

EU and UK are the first, the others will follow.
