Eating cheese is good for dental health. No, really

I've recently tried a smoked gouda for the first time and it tasted like a slightly fancier mozzarella. Quite strong by itself, but great in scrambled eggs. A bit spendy, though, even at Aldi, so sticking with less expensive domestic cheese like cheddar.

a smoked gouda

You have no idea how much I miss that. I grew up on that stuff! 🇳🇱 But where I live now they don't have that.
I could also go for an "old" Gouda (riped 24 to 36 months). So full of flavor!

Cheddar is good too. My go-to cheese for grilled cheese sandwiches. Melted cheese is just the best. 🫠

I'll need to see if my local Aldi carries aged gouda. I saw 1000 day aged gouda on their website but the local store might not have it because it's not very large.

It's amazing to me that you guys have Aldi over there. I'll bet that some Euro quirks made their ways to American soil. Do the shopping carts at your Aldi require a coin deposit? What about the store itself, are the products just displayed in half-open boxes on pallets, for maximum efficiency? That would be so Germancore.

Yes, a quarter, a common coin also used in laundromats. I think we can buy rolls of coins from a bank. The boxes are stacked on shelves. Not much seem to be on pallets, only sugar and flour.

The Aldi by me opened maybe four years ago.

Here a map

Aldi here is run by Aldi South. Aldi North runs Trader Joe's

I've already been clued in to this seemingly faux rivalry when watching a video from The Fat Electrician
