Subject wee bit misleading but came across a fascinating video highlighting foods with long shelf lives if stored correctly.

Always worth having some stored items in case of emergency and the video lists 20 items that can be kept with very little effort.

I don’t really tend to watch videos, so would be great if you have a link to share with text of the same info 🙂

I’m pretty sure labels typically have instructions on storage though I have to wonder how many ppl acc read then?

Your post just reminded me that Asda was fined for selling out of date foods. Asda had systems in place for this but these were not implemented or adhered to as expected.
Well, I’m glad they’ve been held accountable with a hefty fine of £640,000, £15,115 in costs and a £2,000 surcharge, and let’s hope they comply with their assurances to check foods with a short shelf life daily while checking foods with a longer shelf live twice a week.

I haven't been counting, but I think I've got
  • 100+ cans of fish
  • 100+ jars of potatoes
  • 50+ cans of various meats
  • 50+ cans of beans
  • 20+ cans of chick peas
  • 15+ cans of ravioli
And for the kitties
  • 100+ cans of wet food
  • 30+ kg of dry food
You know, for a rainy day.

I'm sorry Hitcore, but that's just not enough cans to prepare for the apocalypse. Could you please at least double it and have a full inventory for me on my desk by tomorrow 07:00 sharp, thankyou.

Oh and you forgot the Dreamies for the cats! Terrible man...
