If you've got a persistent, intermittent, niggly cough going on for months, you may have cought a virus that just won't shift. I should know, because I've got this cough, and, according to this article, it's widespread.

Note that coughs like this can also mean more serious problems, even cancer, so if you're worried, it would be a good idea to see your doctor about it.

Doctors around the country have noticed it, too. “We have been seeing an unusually large number of patients who had typical viral upper respiratory infections, but have had a lingering cough that has lasted weeks to months,” Dr. Scott Braunstein, a double-board certified internal medicine and emergency medicine physician and the national medical director of Sollis Health, told HuffPost.

I'm sorry to hear you have had a persistent cough. I hope it will resolve very soon. Coughs can be confounding as per your article.

For us, in Texas, we have so much pollen year round that some people with persistent coughs in Texas are either dealing with hay fever related to mountain cedar from December to February or Ragweed from late July to November. We have had a very warm season this winter and it's kept Ragweed perpetually growing... sniffle. 🤧
