High salt intake is actually good for you, apparently

This video claims that a high level of salt intake isn't actually bad for you and can be good, so the recommendations for low amounts of salt in one's diet is wrong, based on faulty science. The presenter goes as far as calling the official guidance a "lie", which is likely just a bit of clickbait to get people to watch it. Like I did... Note that he uses proper sources to back up his assertions too, or I wouldn't have posted it here.

This is very interesting and he might well be right, but I don't recommend starting to consume large amounts of salt yourself, going against decades of science-based, established, nutritional advice. If you're really interested, I suggest doing your own research and see what that reveals. Me? I'm gonna keep eating "moderate" amounts of salt like I've been doing.

Heck, I'm interested in this too. Remember I've mentioned how I LOVE potato chips/crisps, @Retro ?

Though I won't eat that stuff that much anymore, Not because of the salt, but because I want to lose a bit of weight, Did groceries today. There was an offer on Pringles. But I consciously left it alone. Kinda proud moment there.

It is interesting, though, how we still figure out things about our food and our health. We've mapped the world and a bit of space, but we haven't even mapped our own bodies fully. A lot of info out there is quite conflicting. One could go insane by listening to everything. That's why I'm not the type who listens to everything.

So I'll just consume as much salt as I please, just without the snacks.

What next? This is a lot of rubbish as far as I am concerned. Obviously we need salt, it is a vital element, soldiers fighting in the desert got their ration of daily salt.
Yes, salt is vital, we get natural, small amount of salt in most vegetables, spinach, beetroot, celery come to mind, carrots as well as many others, but what this guy is advocating is a joke, cranky really, good for a laugh anyway.
