Modify your iPhone 17 Pro Max 256GB to 2TB easily with just a screwdriver! πŸ˜€ Ok, I'm kidding, this isn't actually something that anyone without expensive specialist tools and knowledge should attempt, all to save a few hundreds pounds or dollars. Oh and it will void your warranty too. Mind you, with the price of those tools and the 2TB chip, I doubt there would be any savings to be had anyway.

The other thing I'm wondering about is the mismatch between the model name and serial number stored in the iPhone's firmware and the upgraded 2TB flash chip. It would be trivial for iOS to detect this and just brick the iPhone, or just put it into some useless restricted mode with a warning message. This has happened with unauthorised repairs many times, so quite likely. Hence, treat this as an interesting tech demo and nothing more. I'm sure Apple are interested in this video too, in somewhat less friendly ways...

It's also a good example of what you could actually be getting when buying a "new" iPhone from unofficial sellers, usually criminals, for a too-cheap price, where this kind of mod makes sense as it makes them a lot of money.
