Quantum Computing: Tech's Longest-Running Hoax?

This video asserts that quantum computing is technology's longest running hoax with companies forever claiming that they're on the verge of delivering useful functionality with their quantum computers, but never quite delivering and in the meantime raking in millions or even billions of dollars in funding. I started out watching this video skeptically, but it does seem to have a point so can't simply dismiss it. Ultimately, I don't have enough personal knowledge of this to confirm or debunk it without research.
