This would be a real shame if it happened, but given how outdated this form of signaling is, I'm not suprised that it's finally being upgraded to something modern. I'm not especially a steam loco enthusiast, but I do like trains of all sizes from the smallest Z gauge to full size and I can see the value in keeping these iconic engines running and in the hearts and minds of the public. It would certainly be nice to take a pleasure ride in such a train, hear that characteristic chuffing sound and see the steam and smoke.
