All members: please be mindful of server storage space when posting - Don't squander it

Most people post on forums as if server storage space is unlimited and costs for it are fixed as they're not the ones paying the bills, but unfortunately neither of these are true. What is true, is that the number of posts and hence storage space tend towards infinity as long as that forum is open and active - a read only one obviously will remain fixed - so please be mindful of not speeding up that progression.

Here's how you can help.

When you post, please be mindful of quoting...

What? I don't think you understand with an asinine statement like that. Perhaps read it again.

Ahhh... the joys of being an SaaS client (on most any software). Get busier, forced to buy a larger package.
Meanwhile, 458GB of free space available with 21GB used and all resources devoted to me for $16 a month is my suffering. ;)
Honestly.. posts (in the database) take up a very small fraction of the storage on a site. Graphics tend to take up more.
Have you leveraged ES on your SaaS offering or are you still using the built in search indexes.. which do eat up space as they increase the DB size drastically and that may go against your total.

Totally understand storage challenges. Tagging works well for me on many levels and I'll apply that more often to my posts.

DW Tiffs, I've never seen you go overboard with the quoting. Feel free to tag or quote as you see fit.
