While this cancer can’t be cured, this treatment combined with 2 other treatments has been found to be delay disease progression by 3 years compared to 1 year with daratumumab alongside the same other 2 treatments, and side effects are also managed.
The great news is that England will be the first to receive such treatment! This hopefully means more time to spend with their loved ones! Even better hopefully a cure will eventually be found!
NHS England first in the world to roll out 'trojan horse' therapy for blood cancer
The NHS in England will be the first health system globally to offer a ‘trojan horse’ targeted treatment for blood cancer that could delay disease progression nearly three times longer than current options.
