We know Councils and Governments across the globe seem to want to hammer the motorist but my local Council, Barnet, seem to have come up with a devious plan, no idea as to the legality of it either. I took a drive to Cricklewood today to view some places of interest. Whilst chatting to some locals I was asked where I parked, round the corner says I, no yellow lines.
I was then informed the entire estate was a residents only parking area, 7 days per week, early till late. No marked resident bays, no yellow lines (just double yellows by junctions), merely signs on entering the area.
Now I thought road markings were National, Double Yellows no parking at all, single yellows, no parking at times displayed.
When they've driven all the cars off the road they will have to tax by other methods, Councils will not be able to lose the car fine income, forget pay by mile driving, with the proposed 15 minute cities we'll be limited to walking for a maximum period before paying for a permit.
Didn't get a ticket unless one gets electronically delivered at some point
