Factory hidden during wartime

It is amazing the innovation that goes on during times of war and the speed at which tasks get done.

I'd never heard of this one but apparently during WW2 the Boeing factory in Seattle was hidden by building a fake town on top of it. Fake, houses, fake trees, fake roads.

Incredible. Never heard about it at all; and the fact that 30,000 people knew about it, yet kept their mouth shut , is quite something.
You would think there would always be at least one asshole who would blab it all out; but nope. The secret was kept. Amazing.

What a clever idea they implemented to hide this Boeing factory. This is the first time I've ever seen this.

Different era, from what I've heard from relatives now passed is that during WW2 people knuckled down, worked together and of course peer pressure to comply.
