Gmail turns 20 today

I knew that Gmail had been around for a long time, but 20 years to the day on 1st April 2004 is quite something. Here's a couple of articles on it.

@Geffers I think this is the kind of factoid that you'd like to know about.

One can never see established names disappearing until they disappear.

Could see Facebook fading, even twitter (aka X) but Google, seems doubtful.

Google has one major advantage, their archived historical videos are amazing, not sure who could surpass that service. Could YouTube be taken over? Seems unlikely but who'd have thought Twitter would get taken over.

I've had a Gmail for at least that long. I first got on-line in 1997. If I remember correctly, I actually was given an invite code to Gmail!
