After finally getting stable access to the hard drive in a pc I’ve been getting working - the Apricot FT//e - I discovered something I’ve never seen before. A tutorial on installing an intel overdrive cpu. Interestingly, the chip in this pc isn’t an intel overdrive – it’s a Kingston turbochip branded AMD 5x86 chip, which replaces a 486 and runs at 133mhz – supposedly matching Pentium 75 speeds..
Here is the overdrive installation tutorial I found still installed. There are also some speed tests for checking it works, but I have nothing to compare them to!
