I'll kick it off with this interesting retro picture filled with classic equipment. I especially like the calculator and the clock with the blue display behind it.

I'd really love to have a calculator like that and it looks like it's got an EL display, too. I've got a hand-sized Toshiba one from around 1973 that's got a blue EL display, it's got 4 chips inside it, runs off 4 AA batteries or PSU and has very basic functionality. It worked the last time I tried it, but that was years ago. It's so slow that it actually takes a little time to do a long division!

I got it from school in the 1980s. It belonged to a teacher who brought it in to show his pupils and was totally fascinated by it as it looked ancient even then. When I asked him if he was willing to sell it, he just gave it to me for free - what a legend! :cool: Really made my day. I'll try to get some pictures and more info about it.
