Just how fast is a cat?

Really, really fast - enough to beat a snake in fact. I remember seeing their speed when occasionally being attacked by our beloved kitty (the one who hated me for no reason, bless). I'd be nailed with a swipe or a bite even before I'd properly registered* the movement. Seriously impressive. This short video shows off their speed in all their glory.

Sorry you had a kitty, @Retro that mischievously attacked you at times. I know the feeling though. My mom had a cat named Adriana, and she hated me too. I'd be walking innocently down a hall way and Adriana would attack me biting into my ankles. I had a hard time liking that cat.
