Well, at least the lad is not fussy: everything goes. You can't really be angry with him
IMHO better he brings home these inert objects, rather then dead or dying birds or mice....
Come to think about it, kitty is choosing the soft option here: a lot easier to pounce on a static shoe, rather then chase a very mobile mouse!
