I'm not at all surprised by this. The four speakers in the iPad Pro 12.9 inch (v1 and v2) sound very good indeed, especially for a tablet. They can even output a little bit of bass when the iPad is placed on the right surface and the bass frequencies in the music aren't too low.
The video actually lets us listen to the difference which is very noticeable.
It's amazing what seemingly impossible feats quality engineering can do. Note that there could also be some DSP processing going on which can make a radical difference to the sound. However Apple do it, it's a big step up from the competition and they should take notice.
