You couldn't plan this, this is just the luck of being in the right place at the right time.

That's amazing, it's like the snow isn't even there for the train. One doesn't want to stand anywhere near that when it's chucking the snow around like that.

The driver still needs to see lights or signals so one wonders of the huge snowstorm it creates causes an issue. Appreciate there is much automation, DLR and much of the tube network is automated, with the tube I think only two of the lines are not now automated.

What is really surprising is that whomever did the road plowing was allowed to put a barrier like that up over a railway line.
If it froze hard enough, it could cause a derailment.

Sorry AW, I can't see this barrier you refer to. I can see that there are two barriers going across the road as you'd expect and the railway line seems to cross the road at quite an angle, but that's it.

The barrier is the snow that was piled up across the railroad lines. That is the only reason you would get a sudden burst of snow as it reached the roadway.

Oh right, I thought you meant some sort of physical barrier that someone would have put there. Looks like the snow just piled up there on its own.

Naw, you can look and see that around the road it is higher than the surrounding ground. Just look to the right out the vehicle window about the time it goes through. You can see the massive pile compared to the rest of the ground.

So you reckon that someone piled the snow up there deliberately? Very irresponsible if true. It certainly could derail the train.

If they were using a snow plow to clear the road, would happen automatically. You can tell by looking at the sides of the road and the amount of snow that is everywhere and the roads are pretty clear a plow has been used and not somebody doing it by hand that could throw it around that point.
