When we are dissatisfied with our lot in today's world there is always someone worse off.

Many people suffer tragic disfigurement but modern plastic surgery gives them home.

This is sad but wonderful too.

That looks awful. Geffers, I've put the video behind a spoiler tag as it's quite distressing to look at.

I hope that woman is helped a bit, though. What a terrible affliction. ☹️

Thanks for sharing that. We watch Botched as it is a feel good show to us as we can see people get helped. In most cases, it is issues caused by botched plastic surgeries. But, they also did Botched by Nature in which they traveled to help people that had disfigurements from birth or accidents. A bonus is the doctors on the show are fun to watch - great personalities.

Botched is great, seeing the whole journey these people have to take in order to transform from disfigured "botched" plastic surgery to their best possible selves with the help of great plastic surgeons.

I generally don't like cosmetic surgery done for vanity reasons, eg a facelift, because it looks unnatural and the more they have the worse it looks - Michael Jackson anyone? Any surgery like this actually damages the body, so any superficial improvement is outweighed by that damage, even if not immediately obvious, as the surgeries don't tend to age well.

On the other hand, "cosmetic" surgery to correct birth defects such as a cleft lip, or perhaps a serious burn victim, will still look odd, but be much better than leaving it uncorrected, often improving function as well as appearance, or perhaps saving their life, so I'm wholly in favour of such surgery and believe it should be free for the person who it's being done to (paid for by the tax payer) since it can so improve their quality of life no end.

Two cosmetic surgeries that I can't stand the look of, are fake breasts (I can always tell) and collagen lips where they tend to blow them up like balloons. Both are so gross, but especially the lips as someone's face is where we interact with that person and I can't stop focusing on them and being put off.
