Every so often I come back to the Codeless Code - http://thecodelesscode.com/contents - a collection of wisdom about coding and engineering, delivered in short Zen koan style tales.

I find it a refreshing take on the issues that really matter about coding, and I find I end up seeing existing problems in a new light every time I re-read. The fact that each story has a number of geek points should give you an idea of where this sits in the world

I was rereading some anecdotes from here. Ozymandias sticks out as a really good metaphor for the way that programmers work, even though Arantor hasn't been here since.
