They're a bit of a racket to say the least. It's gotten to the point where to pay the normal price at Tesco, you must be in the scheme, otherwise you pay significantly more, yet, they call it the "discounted" price. The other thing of course, is the extensive data mining that they don't tell you about and the subsequent privacy invasion.

After Brexit all loyalty schemes should've been abandoned. The price of food is increasing, and so little is given for the same amount 10 years ago so that there's no point in loyalty schemes even existing.

Good point. Unfortunately, one is now strong armed into it due to differential pricing. Forcing someone to join a scheme just get normal pricing masquerading as a price cut is the very definition of fraud.

Differential pricing could be done in reverse to our advantage, though we've had no cooperative actions especially since Brexit.
