@Tiffany, I wish it was possible to do two Likes against a post as I'd give you a ❤️ for the first half and a :( for the second half, so I went in the middle with a regular Like.

Oh yeah, I've seen big dogs try to sit on laps and its pretty cute and funny. I love how they can be so soppy.

Right, Champy Bear, gonna try and remember that!

It's raining here at the moment, nothing extreme and of course, while those damaged or ruined towns drop out of the news, the crisis continues long after, unfortunately.

Well @Retro , at least the rain was only in the morning and it was sunny all afternoon!

It was apparently only 20C today but the afternoon sure felt much warmer than that! No wind I suppose

I miss the rain already, @Retro as the southern area states are in a heat dome for nearly two weeks or so. No rain for us, just hot. It would be nice if the "like system" supported more than one reaction at times, but then the reaction system encourages us to write more which is a good thing. :)

@AllThingsTech wind is always helpful even in the hottest of days. We won't see 20C until maybe mid to late October, at least in the day time. Our evening temps will improve though. Hopefully, the rest of your summer will be breezy and not too warm. :)

I'm sorry about that oppressive heat dome. Does your home aircon make it comfortable inside though? I know sometimes they might not be quite enough.

I think whoever invented reactions should get a medal tbh. They're so handy for expressing appreciation and other things.

Thanks! Our aircon works pretty good until it gets into the upper 90'sF and especially over 100F. Our upstairs can't keep up with the heat very well because of the heat gain too, since the upper center room faces the west. Our downstairs living room is all glass and also facing the west so that room struggles a bit, but it's okay. Hopefully, this will pass in two weeks or so and we will get back to a more tolerable heat. I feel like Sheldon from Big Bang Theory when his answer to going "outside' is stepping in to the hallway of his apartment lol. I don't stay outside too long.

Love reactions and gamification. It truly makes writing in forums a pleasure as they do add to the whole experience, agreed!

The weather today was just a but chilly outside, with a little rain, making it perfect inside. Such a relief to be free of that heatwave.

I thought it was hot @Retro ! The other day you were hot while i was cool and it was raining today you’re cool and it’s raining and i’m hot!

Clearly, the weather greatly varies in different parts of the UK.

Glad to hear the UK is cooling a bit for some. I suppose that is relative to interpretation and depending where you live. ;)

We are just hot as heck. Even my dogs don't want to stay it outside. My little Champy Bear goes right to the door and starts scratching at it signaling to me that he wants the door open like "right now". 🐶

.....I recently trained my sweet Champy Bear how to spin on command. What really helped him put it together was when I went on my tippy-toes, arms up in a pirouette with the treat in my hand and spined for him calling out the command "spin" That sealed the deal lol...... Snowey has recently learned how to spin on command, but he took a different approach.......

Gidget......
@Tiffany, from your description I can just visualize you doing your best Swan Lake🦢 moves while chirping "spin". Nice one.
Jokes apart, to me this actually demonstrates two things: first thing, Bear's intelligence, to interpret your spinning and to actually imitate it. Not all that obvious really, when you think about it.
Second thing, Snowy. As we said, different dogs, different personlities, different training methods; but what has undoubtedly helped, was the fact that you let Snowy watch you training Bear.
It is an in-built process, vital to all animals, to learn skills and behaviours by watching their peers. It ensures their survival.
So, as the learning curve goes, little Snowy does half a spin and walks off. But then his brain tells him: 'hang on, there is more to it if you want your treat; do as Champy does, he makes mum happy and he earns a treat'. Snowy gets the message.

Gidget: really unusual behaviour, this herding thing.
Snowy and Bear should sit her down and lecture her about their ancestry, them big Spitz herding and sled dogs they are the descendants of. They should tell her they don't need no herding from some foreigh tiny Mexican, and a girl to boot!!!

Oh Tiffany , if only they could talk to us😶......
Just me fantasising again

@AllThingsTech It's 100F plus. It's miserably hot and humid.

@Mars Totally agree, all animals and even same breeds respond differently to different circumstances and training as do children in my experience ;) Lol on Snowy Bear giving Gidget a history lesson on her ancestry. It's a funny thing to see her in action and it's the only time she ever barks. She gets so excited and runs back and forth from the sofa to the loveseat until Champy gets up off of his comfy bed to join Snowy and me on the way out the door.

Snowy tried to half-way spin for a treat today. I give him a look and then he finished the spin and did a double spin lol. My poms are spinning crazy now :D I wish they could talk too, but when you're around your family pet you learn about their needs just like they learn about us. Animals are amazing!

My oldest sister lives in this town.
Soon she will also be my coldest sister.
In fact, theoretically it should not even be possible for anything to be that cold, I think that's like -55 Kelvin. 😅
Gotta love that 13 Beaufort wind as well. Some nice 61 mm of precipitation to top it off. Lovely day.

@Hitcore WTF, are you trolling? :P Surely can’t be that extreme! Always had the impression Netherlands is a cold country! Does it ever get that extreme where you are too?

Obviously those readings were wayyyyy off. Either some instrumental or software error. They have adjusted it now.

The Netherlands is a cold country indeed, though not colder than the UK, I reckon. Similar amounts of rain. Storms however are more common, I'd say.
Denmark is a bit colder. Longer winters, too. Snow storms and everything, every single winter. But perfect summers (not too hot).
