Welcome to The Playful Parody Thread™

This is the place where we take the sacred and the oh-so-serious... and give it a loving nudge, wink, or full-blown spoof. Whether it's a reimagined movie scene, a twisted song lyric, or a satirical take on pop culture, bring your best parodies and let the fun begin!

Today I'd like to kick off with a parody on The Safety Dance, by Men Without Hats. The lyrics on this spoofed version are just... brilliant!

The Safety Dance also inspired big shows like Family Guy and South Park to include it in their sketches.

Have fun in this thread! Countless parodies of movie scenes, music, pop culture, and even classical works of art have been made, so there is plenty to go around! 🙂

omg love the first video especially! :ROFLMAO: The way it describes what's happening is genius. I love this song, played it over and over so many times now and it's actually in my collection right here on NerdZone. And yes, I remember it from the first time round in 1983. ;) 42 years ago now, damn. You know that 42 is the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything, right?

Indeed, my friend. Some dolphins told me, right before their departure. The most peculiar thing, they did not tell me where they were headed to, and why. But they did thank me for all the fish. I suppose everything will be alright, will it not?

Hovering back to Family Guy, I absolutely love this clip.

They're spoofing Street Fighter II quite accurately, I used to play that game a lot back in the day, the moves in the clip are legit. (Peter being Ken, Mr. Washee Washee being E. Honda)

Wow that's pretty good. The imperfections in the AI animation going deep into the uncanny valley is quite a good effect. I wonder how much time and money this took to make. It also shows how far technology has come to be able to do this at all.

I didn't like that big rotating watermark that kept fading in and out though. It's enough that they had the small version rotating in the corner.

Here's another one. I love it when a movie breaks the 4th wall and this makes a great parody of it. It doesn't have that annoying watermark fading in and out all the time, either.

The T-800 and T-1000 Arnold Schwarzenegger and Robert Patrick respectively portray are already AI. With this layer of AI added to it they're even scarier, somehow. 😅

btw your dystopian avatar is all the scarier for having Robocop's face on the front of the engine! :ROFLMAO:

Haha, yeah it's sort of a Robocop/Alex Murphy meets Thomas the tank engine mashup. Imagine an AI movie clip about that one. Fighting crime at a 100 miles per hour! 🚂🤖
