Nostalgic and rare footage of trains departing from and arriving at the main station of Leipzig. Most of the video looks like it could have been the 70s, but what we see here are actually the 90s.

This is due to Leipzig being an east German city, which fell under DDR rule. Once the Iron Curtain fell and the Germanies had their reunification, we could finally see how far behind East Germany really was.

(which in the case of railways I think it's freaking awesome)

I agree, it does have an air of nostalgia to it, but not understanding the language is a hindrance to fully appreciating it; I do understand some German, but certainly not enough to follow it. Even though, you still get more of the feel of the 70s, rather then the 90s.
