Interesting product, feels more like a publicity stunt to get people talking than a product that is likely to be hugely popular. Still cool to see a Noctua cooler on a GPU. Curious to see if it does the rounds with reviewers to see what temperatures are achievable.
Agree the brown and black...
I'm still waiting for a few parts but the new key stems turned up. I decided to get this job ticked off the list as it was a complete keyboard strip down from the rear to get access to remove the old broken key stem and assess if there was any further damage to the membrane. Worth mentioning the...
Check out my first post in the thread here for an intro to this - https://greenfordcomputer.club/threads/the-three-amigas-numero-uno.261/
I decided to turn my attention to the second Amiga 500 on my list, the A500 Plus. I already knew this needed more attention than my KS1.2 A500. With that...
Nice write up. A shame about the crack in the casing but at least it doesn’t look like a pressure point that will get worst. Plus there are probably some options for repair. Also I’m learning to embrace the yellowing on some of the old kit. If it’s even yellowing it’s not always that noticeable...
Quick update on the drive selector, I’m still waiting for a response from Amiga kit. In the meantime I’ve started stripping down and cleaning the A500 Plus (upcoming thread for that one 😉). Thought I would give the drive selector a go in it, what do you know, it’s a perfect fit and tested ok...
Making good progress there. A shame about the case clips, as always there is a lot of trial and error involved in these projects.
I'm very keen to see this one up and running, especially the RGB2HDMI. Are you also looking to use WHDLoad?
There are a number on the market that all follow a similar design. There is a thread here http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=97506, someone else with the issue got their problem resolved by Amiga Kit so I'm hopeful. I think some of the problem is the various components used by Commodore even...
Some updates on the Amiga 500.
I mentioned my A501 RAM expansion Varta issues (separate thread still to come for that). I picked up one of those CR2032 replacement boards that go in place of the Varta battery. Soldered that in and I now have a working real time clock. Left the machine unplugged...
If you do fancy the book and can’t find a copy it’s currently looking about £15 to get it printed at one of those pdf printing websites.
I would love to be able to get proficient enough to create even a basic game.
Funny I’m just seeing this post, AMOS is something I really want to explore now I have my A500 up and running.
Never got in to programming beyond some BASIC on the VIC-20 and C64. Reading up AMOS looks quite a bit more advanced, have had a little play around with the interpreter for AMOS v1.34...
Couple of interesting looking games there, as you say would be nice to see a little more, I might look a few of them up.
Highlights for me have to be Cab Hustle and Limbo. Cab hustle just because I like Thrust, although I came to prefer the BBC version over the C64. Limbo is something a bit...
