Alright, it's been a while since I've uploaded something, but private and work life sometimes gets pretty busy. Nevertheless, I managed to upload this today, on a Friday, which was club night at BlueTiek-in!
BlueTiek-in was a discotheque in the 80s in Rotterdam. I've already told a bit about it in the Hithouse thread. It wasn't long after that when I felt compelled to make a song about this legendary place. Despite me being only a kid when BlueTiek-in was around, through stories from my older sister who worked there, and through the records and pictures she brought back home I think I've captured the spirit of it.

For the music I've chosen to have a more general disco styled theme, since BlueTiek-in was a venue of versatility. Yes, there were club nights with some resident DJs who would play acidhouse, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. BlueTiek-in was also home of many other styles such as R&B, soul, pop, and more. And last but not least it was the home venue of a Dutch music television program called Popsjop (pronounced as: Pop Shop). It's through footage of this program that I was able to make a videoclip out of it, 80% of what I have used are of Popsjop broadcasts. Unfortunately there isn't really a lot of footage of the DJ clubnights, this was of course a time way before smartphones, and home video cameras were expensive, and also chunky (not very handy when your goal is to go out and dance).

My sister is at work right now, I cannot wait to share this video with her, she will be thrilled, I'm sure of it.
And I'm also glad to share it here with you all, BlueTiek-in is a unique piece of 80s nostalgia, whether or not you have been there.
In my music section I'll post some of the Popshop videos at some point. Some of the artists that have performed on this program were MAJOR names, such as Whitney Houston and Jermaine Jackson. That goes to show that BlueTiek-in wasn't just any old local disco. ;)

Enjoy the 80s overload! 🎶🎹🎉

Edit: it seems that YouTube doesn't pick up the thumbnail everywhere. A bit annoying. Should be this:

This tuneful track really sounds like it was made in the 80s rather than an alternative 80s like I was saying the other day. Nice one.

I've seen that with the thumbnail picture and wondered what that was. Unusual for YouTube to have a bug like this in it. Worth uploading it again, maybe? What about the filesize, anything like that?

On some devices and locations I see the thumbnail, on others it's not visible. In fact, when I embedded the video here the thumbnail was visible, but after checking this thread again it suddenly was gone. So random!
Just my luck. My views already aren't that high, and now that a colorful thumbnail won't be displayed half the time will draw even fewer people to it.
But I won't reupload it. The video and the thumbnail are two separate things. I may try to delete the thumbnail and resend it again. Perhaps there was something wrong with the image file I used for it, so I'll modify it slightly, to see what happens.

And thank you! This style is a bit new for me. I won't be making a habit out of making disco tracks, it was just a one-timer for the subject of this particular discotheque, of course. For my next track I do not have a specific idea yet, but I do feel that I want to make something dramatically sci-fi'ey, like you have mentioned in the other thread! We'll see what happens... it also depends on the idea of the subject, things have to fit, naturally.

I have fixed the thumbnail issue. It didn't like the PNG for some reason. So I made a JPG out of it and now it works just fine. So I guess I'll be feeding YouTube jaypegs from now on.

So YT prefers lower quality files to lossless? Ok, weird.

I can see the thumbnail ok now.
