There's such a huge variation in the timings for chess I had no idea about. The rules are the same for all of them, it's just the time allowed for moves that's reduced each time. I'd be up for watching the fastest versions.

It's become a bit of a meme, nowadays, that streamers on Youtube give themselves the idea of being cultured by learning the basics of chess. A lot of unique tactics, and it's basically a style of play fighting. Generally I'd like to see more serious gaming because it's usually popularised for a sake of a joke.

To be fair, chess was originally conceived of as a game to teach warfare tactics - whether you look at our version or Xiang-Qi (Chinese Chess, as such), or the older variants, the same basic situation arises.
