Tiffany, so sorry to hear about little Gidget, so small, don't you just want to pick her up and make it all go away....I know how it feels when our little charges go ill, it feels bad; we feel so helpless. Hope you have a good vet, who will find the reason and of course when you have a minute, please let us know what he says. I send my love to tiny Gidget.St. Patrick's day is celebrated in the US on March 17th. People tend to were green on St. Patrick's day. Bars and clubs will add green food coloring to beer and cities will often have parades or some type of celebration for the public.
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. I have a sick dog, Gidget. She's going to the vet tomorrow morning. She's been sick since Thursday night and I think it's an ear issue with nausea. Poor girl.
Many men unfortunately seem to sleep on this color. I rock it. Good drip. We talking shirts, right? xDWhat's the significance of wearing green?
Ah, of course, I remember the shamrock often makes an appearance on this day.
I'm sorry to hear about Gidget. Hope she gets well soon and please keep us updated on her progress. Thankfully she's being looked after by the best doggy guardian ever.

Tiffany, am just reading your post again, can't believe a week has flown by....Best "dog guardian" I like that...nice phrase for a coffee mug, or if you are thinking "Guardian's of the Galaxy", with super nanny powers, that will work too.
She's sitting in my lap right now and Champy Bear is to my right in my chair. Sick little fur-baby.
Thank you Mars! On picking her up and holding her, I've been literally overwhelmed with her care since this started late Thursday night. Friday night I had to stay in the living room and monitor her nausea and I was doing laundry all through the night to make sure she had fresh bedding. Sunday morning was the scariest morning as she's always up to greet me, but she wasn't this day and she looked like she was Bambi just born, so I knew she had a glucose issue on top of all of the nausea. Helpless, yes and extremely worried.
There are two things I'm scared of in life and it's my dd's new truck if I scratch somehow or if something happens to Gidget or my other dogs. My dh is very close to Gidget, as we all are, but Chihuahuas are known to bond with one person in the family and that's my dh....which honestly is surprising...lol.
I spent two hours at the vet today. Lab work, ears checked, that other stuff checked and finally an x-ray. They couldn't find a thing except something about her liver. I was so surprised because she's clearly sick. They gave her IV fluids and sent me home with nausea med's and stuff for that other stuff issue to take care of that issue.
She wasn't eating or drinking today again, so I went to what seemed to work and that was putting this ear med in her ears, even though the Vet said her ears were fine....well....fur-baby nannies might know better so I'm punting on this one and putting this in her ears for the next few days. She was up and about pretty quick after I put the Zymox (OTC for cats and dogs) in her ears. I think she has vertigo somehow or for some reason and the ear med helps?

So how is the sweet Chihuahua? You said the Vet said something about her liver, and that he had prescribed for it? gave you some meds for her liver? what did he actually say was wrong with her liver; it can sometimes cause issues with balance, as of course ear problems can cause it as well, but at least the Vet found no issue with her ears, which is reassuring.
Do you still give her Zymox?
Sorry so many questions but I know what you are going thru. When our pets are not well we would give the world to make them better, if only they could talk to us.....yet the little one did say something to you, in a way, by her not being up to greet you on Sunday morning, as you said. Wonderful that you took her to the Vet the following day!
Normally our pets seem to recover faster then we do, so Tiffany please let us know how she is now, the little Bambi....
Merry Christmas to you and to your loved ones, Tiffany, and Merry Christmas to all; enjoy Xmas mandatory nosh: CHOCCIES!!!!Merry Christmas everyone!
