This little Jack Russell has the air of innocence that all puppies have, but I must say that Tiffany's kitten above, gives him some serious competition in the cuteness stakes.
Apart from the cute puppy, I have also read the article and can only second what it says about the 'early autumn' signs, mentioning blackberries. Mine are ripening early as well. The rampant bramble bush is laden with them, I can take my pick any time; but you do have to approach this sprawling bush very gingerly indeed: its sharp thorns, dried by the heat, are like stilettos, no mercy.

Anyone mentioned climate change?...........

@Mars Thorns compared to stilettos... both are annoying in their own way. I hope you can get some blackberries as you navigate through the bramble. :)

@Tiffany, well I am ready, put some protective gear on (an old shirt), and am off to prune the beast bush; not much, just clear some space, so we can approach the fence and tidy up there, without being attacked by the guardian bramble.
It is actually a lovely looking plant, but every part of it is properly armed, saying 'look but not touch'. Even the leaves are serrated and prickly; all done to defend its berries, I suppose.

@Mars I hope when you decide to conquer that bramble bush for those blackberries you win and don't get scratched up at all. :) Plants have a way of protecting their survival don't they? We have some weeds that are all prickly and you can't even pull them without gloves and even then the gloves aren't that protective.

@Tiffany, sorry forgot to let you know, I was not too drastic with the prickly bush, let it sprawl over the outer fence to its heart content.
Just cut some 'branches' which arched downward, covering a lovely pile of logs I have there for stag beetles and co to populate and call home.
Not many blackberries left, due to the recent heat wave. Still the birds got some as well.
Nice afternoon, hope foxy will come visit later, will look out for him.🦊

Love that you have a fox to come visit, @Mars. It sounds like your bramble bush is serving a nice purpose for natures little critters too.
