One of the things that irk me are when a movie is misdescribed, like the one below. The keywords are comedy, horror, music. I've also seen satire in the Sky TV guide description. However, it's neither comedy nor satire, but a rather poor horror film and it's pretty annoying to find that a movie doesn't live up to its description. Even if the movie is good, which it usually isn't, I still won't be happy that I was mislead by the description. The most frequent misdescriptions are comedies that are anything but.

It's funny that. I run into this particular issue very often, though because the examples are usually subpar (and not worth mentioning) the issue ends up brushed under the rug most of the time. I usually use Metacritic and at least there users tend to fix these issues, though most services in general are sub par and mislabel almost everything, and modern content in general get given its own genre - sort of a band aid on a bullet wound IMHO

I can totally sympathize with your experience of misrepresented films, same here. This happens more than it used too.

Sorry to hear that. Losing internet is like losing your oxygen supply, isn't it? I had this for something like 9 days a couple of years ago.

Can you not fall back to mobile? Appreciate it may be more costly but guess depends on your plan. Mobile seems lot cheaper in UK

Thank you! It wasn't until very late before the outage was repaired. I can't even imagine having 9 days without service. 😵‍💫

Thank you for that suggestion, my cell worked for awhile and then it lost internet too. By then, I was charging my hotspot so I could get online for a little while and I also synced up my hotspot so my cell would work. It had been a long time since we lost internet, actually several years now. It was kind of unexpected because there wasn't really a reason for an outage. We had some rain, light thunder, but not any real severe storm that came through.

Well, I had a moment to drop in to give an update on my first world problem and it turns out the last time I posted here, I had the same problem, well almost. We've been without power for several hours. It's finally back. We've had a lot of high wind here for the past few days and the wind gusts are in the forecast for several more days. I don't know what really happened that caused the outage, but I wish that the US would bury their power lines instead of letting them swing high above the streets. We have so many trees that grow and split right through the power lines. It doesn't take much to cause a power outage with bad weather or even just a lot of high wind gusts. I'll catch up with y'all tomorrow. :)

Gotta love this one. I remember how annoying I find buskers when I'm exposed to them, so it's great to see them get banned. No one asked for your frigging noise! Psychological torture is exactly right. :ROFLMAO:

Playing Christmas songs all day long in shops has been a recognized torture for years by psychologists, but it still goes on. Nobody wants that shit except corporates who don't have to listen to it.

Buskers will be banned from Leicester Square next week after a judge ruled they were inflicting “psychological torture” on office workers in the area.

Westminster Council said it had been left with “no choice” but to remove the street entertainment pitches in the world-famous tourist hotspot.

From April 17 all performances in the square will be suspended and entertainers who defy the ban will face fines and having their equipment seized.

I can see where too many people in an outside square with multiple forms of music and entertainment blasting can be overwhelming for people that work there. Psychological torture has a new meaning in this case, but I can say, I've never cared for any music in a retail store myself. None of it is ever my taste, and most of the time it's old, sad or depressing music. 😝

Bit like noisy neighbours who want to share their idea of music with everyone else.
I've just been sharing this loud, hi energy trance track that I posted today, with my neighbors. ❤️ I'm sure they fully appreciated it...

I used to have a neighbor who was very much a Tiësto fan, and didn't quite hold back on the volume dial. Perhaps this is where my slight antipathy towards Tiësto comes from. At first I asked him politely to tune it down a little, to which he said he agreed, but after the door closed the volume slowly went up again. This happened a few times, and even though my politeness level decreased over time, the result was always the same.

So I took matters into my own hands. Little he knew that he had a gabber for a neighbor. So every time he started pumping Tiësto again, I immediately would crank up some Neophyte or Rotterdam Terror Corps. It's roughly the equivalent of answering with grenades to firecrackers.

Eventually, it worked.

Oh, I like it. There's nothing like a little "enforcement" action, eh? ;)

Oh, hang on, you've written neighbor, which should actually be neighbour for us proper Englishes. Right, gonna start a thread called "Speling Wars" to duke this out!
