Sometimes you try and save a buck by buying used, after all - it could be a bargain! Don't get me wrong.. it mostly has been from my experience, just not this time. 2 dead AM4 boards and the old Socket 7 at the end of the video? Dead too..

This must have been frustrating and buying these things is a false economy as they're highly unlikely to work. Always best to bite the bullet and buy new, or at least used working.

Well i'm getting a full refund on the Asus so there's that! The MSI is toast - possibly fixable but not by me! I'll put it up for sale pointing out the steps I took that didn't work. Maybe someone with an electrical workbench and drawers of resistors will be able to get it working? The last one briefly shown is a 1998 socket 7 board I got for £37 which is the one i really want to work.. but it is proving troublesome. Probably more on that later!
