This story is a fine example of how AI can be abused to give vulnerable patients the runaround: a horrible frustrating experience that prevents them from seeing their GP and can even put lives at risk in some instances. This AI slop is so effective at stopping patients from seeing their GP that it appears to be nearly 100%, so what do those doctors do all day with no patients?

Sky do something similar with their voice recognition system to stop you speaking to an actual human. Mind you, they're often a bit useless too, but there's no other way than to persevere with them.
When I hit upon a way to get round it and finally be put through to someone, it might work once or twice, but then the system learns and will do something different next time, giving me some fucking automated "help" response for some problem I didn't mention and don't have, and hanging up the call, as if it's successfully dealt with my query, when it hasn't. This forces me to call back and try another tactic, several times over. So frustrating and what an insult to your customers.
I used to be able to reliably get through to someone if I said the magic words "cancel Sky", but all it does now is tell me how long I have left on my contract, the products I have on it and that I can't cancel until the expiration date. Then it hangs up. Infuriating.
