Thing is, the tories had to be got rid of because of the harm they've done, especially with brexit and the NHS. I just wish this Labour government wasn't proving to be as bad as them. Time will tell if they're actually worse, but it's not looking good. Maybe they'll turn out better in some important ways like a more efficient NHS, employee and union rights and closer ties to the EU, but again, I'm not holding my breath.

Right, this one is totally outrageous! Labour run Barking and Dagenham council can't recover the money for parking tickets incurred by their own staff (why? Not explained), so have instead put it onto the service charges of their residents. On top of that, they'd hidden that they'd done it, requiring a freedom of information request to uncover this sharp practice. So, tell me, how is this not outright fraud, theft? Heads should roll at this council and those people sent to prison.

Caring, sharing, Labour strikes again.

A Labour council has forced its residents to pay for its own workers’ parking fines, The Telegraph can reveal.

Homeowners have been forced to pay for parking charges and other costs incurred by council workers after the local authority was unable to recover the funds from their own staff members.

The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham put the unpaid penalties on the service charge bills for residents of an affordable social housing development in the area.

The fines included the costs of council staff using the Dartford Crossing, which is 12 miles away from the borough and the development.

The Labour-run council acts as the freeholder for homes in the Weavers Quarter development in Barking, and contracts itself for caretaking, cleaning and gardening services.

@Mars you'll like this one.

Yes, bad, sad news, and I so feel sorry for the residents of this corrupt Council.
Yes, heads should roll and they should definitely be prosecuted, but I would not hold my breath, not with this corrupt government.
It is an old saying 'the fish rots from the head'.....Indeed!

Our dear newish Labour government is doing more proving of themselves by introducing zonal pricing for electricity. This means that houses in the south will pay more than those in the north, because southern electrons are gold plated and hence worth more money. Also, everyone in the south is filthy rich as everyone knows, so why shouldn't they be fleeced? Makes sense, no?

Ed Miliband is poised to approve changes that would mean households in the South pay more for electricity than those in Scotland and the North.

The Energy Secretary has been weighing up whether to push ahead with zonal pricing, which would split the country’s single national power market into different regions.

Supporters say the change will cut household electricity bills overall by reducing the need for grid upgrades, while opponents counter that it will create a “postcode lottery” and deter investment in wind and solar farms.

But in a blow to critics, The Telegraph has been told that government officials have advised Mr Miliband to press ahead with the policy.

So much for looking after the health of the nation. Already succumbed to lobbying corruption.

Government legal guidance urging retailers in England to offer millions of consumers deals and discounts on minimally processed and nutritious food was dropped after a lobbying campaign by the world’s biggest ultra-processed food firms, the Guardian can reveal.

Ahead of new regulations banning junk food promotions from October, the Department of Health and Social Care issued advice to thousands of shops, supermarkets, online retailers and other businesses to help them comply with the law.

The guidance said: “The aim of this policy is to shift the balance of promotions towards healthier options – such as minimally processed and nutritious food.” This might include, for example, two-for-one deals, discounts or extra loyalty points on fruit, vegetables, whole grains, fresh meat and fish.
But the healthy food push was dropped after the Food and Drink Federation, which represents corporations including Nestlé, Mondelēz, Coca-Cola, Mars and Unilever repeatedly demanded the government ditch it.

As the saying goes: "The Fish Stinks From The Head". I have despised the 'head' aka Starmer from the get-go, when I heard him talking about his youth, working in a factory, with his dad, ohhh the poor lad....the bastard forgot to mention that his dear dad owned that factory. When he was called out on this, he had always evaded the question. The whole Labour cohort is up there to make money for themselves and line their pockets.
With me it is like this: I would always prefer the 'Wolf', to the 'Wolf in Sheep's Clothing'.
Sorry about the wolf comparison, I would rather say I'd always prefer an open cesspool: you see it and can avoid it. But the cesspool covered with a blanket of roses is bad news, as you are drawn to the beauty of the roses, only to have the stink hit you when you come closer....
May the whole rotten lot of them rot in hell.
