As a token of gratitude and because I'm happy Retro is so into my music, I've decided to dedicate this one to Retro. Just instrumental, no vocals that influence the sounds.

A couple of months ago I found this YouTube channel that contains over 3000 videos of Dutch (and some Flemish) television from the 60s to the early 2000s, though by far most of the videos are from the 80s and 90s. After having watched at least a hundred of these videos something interesting happened: because I recognized a lot of things that I have been watching in the past, the floodgates opened and a LOT of memories (things I haven't thought about for over 30 years) came back to me. Especially old adverts had this effect on me. I'm no doctor, but my educated guess is that watching old adverts (which are of course things that we have been watching over and over again) activate neural pathways linked to past experiences, rekindling feelings and details from that time.
So I've come up with this backronym: R.E.T.R.O.: Reliving Every Treasure, Rekindling Origins
I went back to my roots by watching old Dutch television, so I figured that since Retro is from the UK that it would make sense to use telly footage that was aired in the UK. Of course I do not know British television nearly as well as Dutch television, so I pretty much picked some random stuff, things that just look cool and fit with the whole 80s synthwave aesthetic and this track. Sound wise I also got a bit inspired by the theme of Twin Peaks, something that also just feels massively nostalgic.
Retro, I hope that it will trigger old and long forgotten nice memories to resurface, for you and for everyone else here.
