It snows sometimes in the Sahara Desert. 
We've been freaking hot this whole week and broke historical temperature records too. Tomorrow brings high wind gusts and an extreme drop in temps so we get back to what is typical again. If this extreme drop in temps had a lot of moisture with two fronts clashing and low pressure we would be talking significant severe weather with multiple tornado events. Alas, no precipitation with this dry front coming in though this time. We just get to switch the heat on again.

Scottsdale is a northern suburb of Phoenix. Sonoran desert.
I enjoyed looking at the pictures in your link of Scottsdale's amazing snow in February of 2019. Snow in Arizona is something I don't think of as a possibility especially seeing snow on cacti. The snow made Arizona's typical landscape look really awesome. Thanks for sharing some interesting weather history of Arizona.

Sitting in a bus to work right now. It's too dangerous for me to be riding my scooter. These country roads have not been salted, making them very slippery, two wheeled transportation isn't very stable in that regard. With currently being -9°C, I walked my way to the bus. Thing is, though, the bus stop is about 6.5 kilometers (about 4 miles) away from my house. So I started the day with quite a walk.
Something funny is happening in the bus. Because of the cold temperatures, the door doesn't really close well. So I'm helping the bus driver with closing the door after passengers have entered.

I think it's awesome. that's the kind of attitude you have to have to do this sort of thing.
By the way I'm not typing I'm doing this speech to text sort of thing. I'm glad my phone picks up my raggedy ass Dutch accent.
I strongly believe that you have to endure a bunch of s*** sometimes. Oh s*** it sensoring words like s*** what the f***. Anyway if you go through tough times every once in a while then you are going to appreciate the better times much more.
Plus I'm getting a hell of a lot of exercise right now which helps me losing weight. Though I did buy one beer at the supermarket just to keep me warm.
Balance, life is about balance.

Cold, but almost no wind, which makes a lot of difference. I like it out here. It's peaceful and quiet.
That bus looks like it's gonna run you over, but yeah the light bloom looks good. At least you didn't have to wait long for it, very important in such cold weather.

I'm sure the storm itself is no joke, but the naming scheme is laughable. Goretti, really? Sounds like when Italian chefs discover that their pasta dish has gone horribly wrong.

Lots going on in my life atm and sorry to be just catching up. I really enjoyed the snow pics and the conversation was delightful to read, as well. It's nice to see other parts of the world.
I hope everyone is staying warm and well especially since there's a super flu going around, at least here in the states. We are just having super warm, out of season weather at the moment. I can't remember when it rained last.
