The roads here are getting icy again. Nearly slipped as there was a truck behind me.



I'm crazy about mopeds and scooters but two wheeled transport and snow don't really mix too well.

And this is nothing yet. Just a taste of what's coming.



A snowstorm is on its way, it should come down somewhere tomorrow afternoon. I will not take the moped, else I'll get stranded with it when I go home from work. Looks like I'm gonna have some long ass walks again.

I actually couldn't leave my house this past Monday to go to an appointment because our driveway was still solid thick ice and when I pulled my car out, it got stuck. This is when I learned my suv didn't have front wheel drive. It was a 2 hour experience with my dd also trying to get the ice to thaw enough (using ice melt, shovels and anything else lol) and it took my experienced dh to take care of it when he got home with using a water hose for an hour. We also learned cardboard under the tires doesn't work. It spit the cardboard right out lol. Sheesh!!

@Hitcore your snow and ice looks dangerous on your scooter. I don't know how you do it. Stay safe!

That sucks! I have my issues with my moped and now having to walk instead, but a car also isn't always suitable for snowy/icy weather.

Yeah, I'm glad I decided to just trust on my own legs. The weather here I would best describe as treacherous. Because at first glance it doesn't look bad. The amount of snow isn't crazy yet, and temperature wise it isn't too bad either. But a thin layer of ice makes the roads treacherously slippery. Even walking on it is kinda tricky. Adding to it is a strong cold wind from the east, blasting tiny particles of snow in the face, which affects visibility. Not kidding, a pair of glasses with windshield wipers would be awesome right now.
Physically I do feel that I have had a good workout.
