Amazon is a great place to shop online most of the time, but as I've posted in a few threads now, there are some shady practices and examples of poor customer service that one should know about. This latest one is about how they abuse their size and market dominance to push their own line of Basics products which have expanded massively in recent years, ahead of products which may be genuinely better and cheaper.

However, to counter this kind of manipulation is very easy: just scroll down a bit, past their recommendations for their own products and the sponsored listings to get to the good stuff that you're looking for.

Finally, I normally create a thread title different to that of the video, but in this instance, Mrwhosetheboss has created the perfect title, so I've used that here.

I always try to steer clear of any of Amazon branded products. At first, my reasoning was purely vain: I didn't want that logo on anything that I owned.

The only thing of theirs that I actually do buy regularly is their big bag of nuts: a mix of cashews, almonds, and cranberries.
