Just discovered this new atheist YouTube channel, Logic Over Faith, started in February 2025 that currently has 80 videos. It explains very well why god doesn't exist and the various contradictions inherent in religions.

Basically, it boils down to there being no evidence for a god. You'd think that if one existed, there would have been some direct evidence over thousands of years, but there's nothing, not a single shred of it, so it's well and truly clear by now that there's no god, that he / it is a human fantasy, and an awful one at that, as the video explains.

@petermarkley as our most religious member, you might like to see this and perhaps post one of your own YouTube videos as a rebuttal. All views are good, all welcome. :)

Well now, you don't go for the hot topic buttons do you? ROFL! Yeah. I know I'm not contributing much to this but, listen to John Lennon's Imagine, my favorite song. He says a lot in that. So many wars, so much hatred, just a lot of stuff spawns over religion. There's good stuff too, of course. My son, as an agnostic, would probably love to contribute to this one, once he can. I'll just say that, as humans, we seem to need to believe in something better than ourselves. Some superhero (hence all of those superhero movies/games/etc), so maybe that's where God popped up? Or, maybe he is there? All the prayers we've done haven't helped the situation we (my family) are in though.

Guess we'll see what Peter says. I think @Tiffany will be interested in this topic too. Me, I'm just confused/lost/unsure of the whole thing. Imagine that.

Oh no, not at all. ;) Your son will be welcome here when he's ready. Just remember to DM me his email address and preferred username and I'll create his account, bypassing all the antispam hoops he'd have to jump through otherwise.

Imagine's a great song. John Lennon just wanted world peace, then some nutjob goes and shoots him dead! I remember the headlines from 1980 and now it's been 45 years since it happened, so many things have happened, our lives changed so much and technology massively advanced. Where does the time go, eh?

Yes, mankind certainly has a desire to believe in something supernatural looking after it and this lie really holds us back. Funny how the prayers don't work, isn't it? Almost like this magical god doesn't exist...

Thanks for posting this video. I will watch it tomorrow when I have more time so I can reply properly as a religious subject requires a thoughtful response with care.

Oh my … I don’t want to be rude, but I have heard all the points in this video ad naseum.

These are all the most standard, most repeated atheist talking points that I have heard most of my life and continue to have forced on me from every quarter on an almost daily basis—often with no good faith behind them to foster healthy, productive discussion. Tbh I’m a little surprised you’d share them here seemingly expecting that I’d find these points interesting or new

I’m sure your intentions are good @Retro but I’m not really convinced it would be helpful for anyone if I tried to address this

@petermarkley , gee not sure what to say but will chime in anyway. I think @Retro had a good point that you could make a YouTube video on your channel and get more interest with your viewpoints, perhaps gaining some traction on this sort of discussion. Since you do the flat earth debunking, this sorta goes along that line as it was mentioned in the video too.
