Retro submitted a new resource:

Brave Browser for ad-free YouTube and speed - Give it a try

Lots of people watch YouTube videos and I, in particular, post lots of YouTube videos on this site.

And the ads are annoying, very annoying. They irritate the hell out of me, in fact, just so disruptive and recently they've started becoming longer (some are 15 seconds v 5 seconds) and more intrusive.

I recently tried Brave for watching YT videos and it does what it claims to do: let you watch YT videos completely ad-free for free without having to buy YT's expensive subscription. How it...

AdBlock also prevents ads on Youtube. You donโ€™t need a different browser to filter out ads ๐Ÿ˜Ž

You do, because the ads interrupt the video. Only Brave allows you to prevent this without paying the subscription fee.

The ads on AdBlock do NOT interrupt the video. I use the Adblock extension for chrome ๐Ÿ˜Ž

You don't understand, it's YouTube themselves that interrupt the videos with ads. Ad block can't prevent this.

Iโ€™m telling you this as a user of AdBlock. Nothing beats personal experience ๐Ÿ˜Ž

I've got that too and it doesn't stop the ads from interrupting the video. Perhaps there are two products with similar names?

I donโ€™t mind being told Iโ€™m wrong but I donโ€™t appreciate being called uneducated ๐Ÿ˜Ž
There is no tone and no offence was intended and I apologise if any was caused, Retro. :)

I think in general people need to feel more relaxed about being told theyโ€™re wrong. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Nothing wrong

with being wrong

Another pun

yet to come

Of course Firefox is supported. How do you not know that?
Iโ€™m a dummy. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ I was thinking of IE, sorry ๐Ÿ˜Ž ๐Ÿ˜Ž ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Iโ€™m sorry, I didnโ€™t realise you can read tone over text. ๐Ÿ˜ Just my usual playful self ๐Ÿ˜Ž

I just find it funny youโ€™re so quick to notice โ€œflawsโ€ in others ๐Ÿ˜‚

Bye for now Retro :)
You're taking the piss now and that's not on. You're not just "joking" and it's not the first time either. Remember who you're talking to.

That is hilarious. I assume you don't plan on getting married? :D

From a philosophical perspective, Nietzsche was good at pointing out that even the desire for truth is not rational (or even inherently or objectively good). It feels that way, but he ushered in the modern view that pure rationality is not possible:

"There is always some madness in love. But there is also always some reason in madness. In everything one thing is impossible: rationality." ~ Nietzsche

Same with Freud in the world of psychology since much of psychoanalysis is just realizing we are not rational creatures. Just as the precortex doesn't make decisions without the limbic system:

"Psychological functioning is optimized when these two modules operate in partnership even though, like most partners, they sometimes come into conflict."
