I'm sure I created a thread on this ages ago? Oh nvm, we'll blab here, lol.

This forum was originally meant to be the home of a retro computer club, ie 1970s to 2000s PCs and consoles, hence you see those sections on the home page and my Retro username. When it changed direction, I extensively reorganised it and the name just stuck as it's a great username, nice, short and pretty cool, too.

My avatar is the branding for the original 1987 Acorn Archimedes, an absolute beast of a machine at the time. With its revolutionary ARM RISC CPU, the speed knocked the spots off the 386s of the time, simply no comparison, and I really wanted one, but they were very expensive, in the thousands. You can imagine how expensive that was back then and quite unaffordable.

This is the original Acorn A310. Check out the iconic A logo on the monitor, my avatar. That's a real picture too, not superimposed. Beats me how they hid the power cable though as they didn't have Photoshop like they do now to erase it. Answers on a postcard to the usual address.

Well, since you asked in the other thread, and made this one lol, you could say my parents chose it. My initials. :P It works for me since I'm all about computers and such.

Is DATA really the initials of your name? What a coincidence :P Or were you being sarcastic there, sorry data, I’m digging you up aren’t I? 😆
