The original NVIDIA graphics card was the GeForce 256 released in 1999 using the Celcius architecture and it's amazing how good the demo still looks today, 23 years later.
Here are the names of all the architectures used in this time period. Notice how they're all names of scientists. Respect. The video of course shows which card generation went with which architecture and is well worth watching.
Celsius
Kelvin
Rankine
Curie
Tesla
Tesla 2.0
Fermi
Fermi 2.0
Kepler
Maxwell 2.0 (there doesn't seem to be a Maxwell 1.0 according to this video. Would have to double check to be sure)
Pascal
Turing
Ampere
Lovelace (upcoming 4xxx series)
