@Tiffany I agree a bear's den would be a safe place to hide in, when a storm is raging; providing the resident bear is not at home....@Mars We had a spring storm from hades last night. It was the kind of storm that had a long life of hurricane force winds (derecho) and the second time in my life that I was ready to shelter in place. We got through it okay, but a lot of Texans did not last night. Lots of damage and power outages. I do like the calm after a storm too. This particular storm was very calm in the beginning, no wind, very odd. I would have taken a bear's den last night. I think the cave would have been more stable lol.

Didn't know what derecho meant, so googled it, and now I know: Frightening! I now understand why a bear's den seemed so inviting.
I feel for the folks that suffered the wrath of the storm. It is easy to wax lyrical about the awesome beauty and mighty power of Nature, until it all becomes too close and personal, when it then boils down to bad news and nothing else. I am so glad you people got thru it okay.
We have a large fig tree in our garden, I love that tree, but I can tell you it gets a bit scary when a strong wind is blowing.
Tell me, how were the doggies, did they react to the storm? Some dogs get very anxious in bad weather, even when they are indoors.
Here we have nice weather, some rains, some sun, lots of birds .
I am looking at your Bear's picture, give him a hug from me. (am I right, your Pomeranian is called Bear?)
Sorry @Retro, I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or whether you’re desperate for a heatwave given the recent rainy weather?Oh great, now the heatwave starts. Like I need this.I've noticed it start to get warm already. The morning started off a lot colder than this evening.

The heatwave isn’t even thaaat bad though rn - i swear it’s like 25 celsius?Oh no, I hate hot weather, especially an intense heatwave. That 40C one in 2022 was murder. I dread another one.
Ah yes same! Where in the UK are you based? Of course it’s always cooler up North. It can get very hot up here in London! I recommend you take a trip to Eastbourne beach when you’re struggling during the heatwave because a) You’re breathing fresh air by the seaside and b) It tends to be windy down there. It's ok now, sure. A couple of degrees warmer and it becomes very uncomfortable for me.
That's a little too specific if you don't mind, especially in public.Ah yes same! Where in the UK are you based? Of course it’s always cooler up North. It can get very hot up here in London!
