It's really hot at home now, but sitting right next to the fan at max speed makes it reasonably comfortable. If I have to move to other places, I quickly come back to my desk! I can also open the windows now that the air outside is cooler than that within.

When I opened a window a couple of times during the day, I could really feel the heat coming from it, so didn't leave it open for longer than necessary. Problem is there's heat with no wind during these heatwaves, so you can't even get a coolish breeze blowing through, just oppressive heat.

100, you'd best go outdoors now, Retro. It's lovely outside 🙂

We are unusually cooler for July with occasional pop up storms but still in the mid 90's (F) and upper 90's (F). I'll take it though. I don't feel like dashing from one tree to another to get out of the sun when I'm outside with my dogs lol.
Tiffany, talking about dogs....it was yesterday I was wandering down the stationery isle of a department store when I saw right in front of me the sweetest thing sitting in a baby stroller: a little Pomeranian the color of your Bear.

I was immediately smitten and wanted to stroke him, but asked his mum, and she said he is 'little nervous with people' (the lady was Polish).
So ok, I just stood there really close to him but not touching, looking at stuff, (as if.... in my head I was totally focused on the dog), when all of the sudden I feel a wet nose nudging my hand! omg. I look at his mum and she smiles and nods so I knew it was alright; so I did stroke him, on his little head and down his cheek, such soft soft fur down his little cheek. He was looking at me and he had this wonderful, warm look in his brown eyes, and he was not afraid.
And you know, I thought about you and your Pommies. You are one lucky lady.

How is Bear and Snowy with strangers? Is Gadget a scaredy one?

That's a lovely story Mars, made my day. ❤️
Yeah, that meeting in the stationery isle made my day as well; that little doggie was such a sweet thing sitting there in his little stroller, panting a bit, but we still made friends, that's the main thing.

Makes your day on a Friday night, doesn't it <3
If you had to choose between cats and dogs what would you choose?
@Retro @Tiffany @Mars and anyone else of course 🙂

Cats hands down, of course. I like all animals though, but I'd choose a cat as a pet.

ppl, it looks like the heatwave is set to peak to today with temperatures over 34C.

The third heatwave to hit the UK this summer is set to peak on Saturday, forecasters have said, with highs of more than 34C possible in some areas.

Amber heat health alerts are in place for the Midlands and southern and eastern England until 9am on Monday, warning of a potential rise in deaths, particularly among those aged 65 and over or with health conditions.

Temperatures hit 34.7C at Astwood Bank, near Worcester, on Friday, according to the Met Office, with similar or even higher temperatures expected on Saturday.
Global warming? Nah, complete figment of the imagination...

I assumed that London is always the hottest during heatwaves! Well, while it was on Monday and Tuesday of last week, it appears not so this time round, thankfully! 29C here today!
