Anyone who follows my politics on NerdZone will know how much I detest the tories, however, they can still be right on some things and this is one of them. Heck, even Trump is right occasionally and that man is a walking disaster who was rightly convicted the other day. They make the following claim if they win the election:

Kemi Badenoch has said the Conservatives will change the Equality Act to rewrite the definition of sex and allow organisations to bar transgender women from single-sex spaces, including hospital wards and sports events.

The party will make clear that the protected characteristic of sex means biological sex, enabling those who wish to bar male-bodied people from organisations or activities to do so.

Badenoch said it would provide reassurance for services such as those aimed at domestic abuse victims.

“Whether it is rapists being housed in women’s prisons, or instances of men playing in women’s sports where they have an unfair advantage, it is clear that public authorities and regulatory bodies are confused about what the law says on sex and gender and when to act – often for fear of being accused of transphobia, or not being inclusive,” Badenoch said.

“That is why we are today pledging that, if we form a government after the election, we will clarify that sex in the law means biological sex and not new, redefined meanings of the word. The protection of women and girls’ spaces is too important to allow the confusion to continue.”

It's a shame that this will never happen since they're most likely to lose the election and Labour are all-in on this politically correct nonsense. At least the terrible damage that the tories continue to do to the country will stop and that's a much bigger issue than this, so I'm sticking with Labour as the better option.

I've just come across this thread and, yeah, doesn't look like Labour are gonna do this unfortunately, but more importantly, the damage from the tories can now finally start to heal. Hopefully.

People must never forget that trans women are actually men and must be treated as such, no matter how much they pretend to be women and wish that they were.

I started and deleted my post several times lol. What I'll say is that I prefer to let people be who they are. I have a lot of empathy and compassion for people who just want to live their lives and not be harassed by others who think they have a right to tell them how those lives should be lived (I am not speaking of you, just people in general).

How terrible to be trapped in a body that just doesn't feel right to you. To feel like a different gender than you were born as. I cannot relate as I've not had that experience. However, I try to put myself in other's shoes when a topic comes up that I personally don't have experience with. It is such a hard life for those that have that reality. I've seen the various stories and read the heart-wrenching details they share of their struggles just to live their lives, love whom they want to love, be who they want to be. To not be shunned and cast aside. I feel so bad for people who have to go through that and who are hated just because they want to live as they want to live. :(

Yes, I agree with live and let live. Thing is, gender is a defining characterstic of our species, humanity, so trying to live as the opposite one is complicated and has consequences for them and others, hence issues with toilets, changing rooms etc. Even with medical issues, they're gonna mostly have issues that men have, not women.

You're quite right about their conflicted lives. I saw a documentary about this once which fairly explained all this and focused on a trans girl too who was happy to be interviewed about it. Yeah, it's awful to feel like you're stuck in the wrong body and the suicide rate among this group is high too, unsurprisingly.

Did you know that when humans develop in the womb, they all start out as female? However, in some cases, hormones / processes kick in to turn them male as they develop, so out pops a boy after 9 months! That might help explain this condition (gender dysphoria) and why there seem to be more men that want to be women than the other way round, if the process doesn't complete properly.

In the case of females wanting to be male, it could be that the conversion process started, but then stalled.

Whichever way round it it is, it's an awful affliction.
